This release of Zilliz Cloud introduces several key updates the Notebook Gallery, which provides examples on advanced features like RAG, embeddings, and multi-modal search; an Improved Capacity of Performance-optimized CU, now increased by 50%, accommodating up to 1.5 million 768-dim vectors per CU and potentially reducing costs by 30% for large data volumes; and Multi-replica Availability, enhancing query performance and reliability by distributing workloads and replicas across Availability Zones (AZs). Additionally, Zilliz Cloud now supports the AWS Tokyo Region for improved performance in the Asia-Pacific area, Prometheus Integration for real-time monitoring and troubleshooting, and a revamped Authentication and Login System with Auth0, offering multiple login methods including SSO. Lastly, users can evaluate Zilliz products through the AWS Marketplace Free Trial, providing risk-free access to core features for performance and scalability testing.

This release brings several key updates to Zilliz Cloud, starting with the GA of Zilliz Cloud Serverless, which offers automatic scaling and enables up to 50x cost savings. Milvus 2.4 features are now GA, introducing capabilities such as sparse vectors, multi-vector hybrid search, and inverted index with fuzzy matching. This release also includes multi-replica functionality in public preview, allowing users to improve query throughput and availability by distributing workloads across replicas in multiple Availability Zones (AZs). Additionally, Zilliz Cloud’s new Migration Service supports migration from open-source Milvus, pgvector, Elasticsearch, and enables intra-organization and cross-organization data migrations within Zilliz Cloud. The expanded RESTful APIs for backup, restore, migration, and job management empower users to build automated operational workflows. Further enhancements include support for Project Read-only roles and the ability to rename clusters and snapshots.

In this update, Zilliz Cloud now supports Milvus' new RESTful API v2, providing a consistent interface and expanded functionalities. A new documentation chatbot enhances user support. The Job Center introduces an intuitive interface for managing and tracking tasks such as backup, restore, migration, import, and clone collection. Auto-scaling for dedicated clusters, available in private preview, dynamically adjusts capacity based on demand, triggered by the Compute Unit (CU) Capacity Threshold. Other enhancements include more cluster monitoring metrics, a revamped cluster management interface, and improved user email templates.

In this release, Zilliz Cloud has unveiled an array of new features backed by Milvus 2.4, including sparse vector support, enhanced multi-vector and hybrid search, an inverted index and fuzzy matching for faster queries, and grouping search for document-level recall. It also introduces Float16 and BFloat16 data types for improved search efficiency. This update to Zilliz Cloud introduces the Serverless plan in BETA. It is designed for applications with variable query volumes, requiring minimal configuration and offering seamless scalability. This plan is now available on GCP us-west1 (Oregon) and includes a free trial during the BETA period. Additionally, new regions are supported for dedicated clusters Germany West Central (Frankfurt) for Azure, and europe-west3 (Frankfurt) and us-east-4 (Virginia) for GCP. This release also introduces several enhancements to monitoring metrics, search precision control, and import jobs.

Now Zilliz Cloud services are available on Azure, starting with the East US region. Additionally, we introduce Zilliz Cloud Pipelines (Beta) which transforms unstructured data into vector embeddings for ingestion and retrieval. The release also brings improved RBAC and credential management within Clusters, with three predefined roles (admin, read-write, read-only) for user administration. Other updates include enhanced error message content and stability improvements for more reliable service.

We're pleased to announce the launch of our AWS Frankfurt region in the EU. Accompanying this expansion, we introduce beta features Range Search, Upsert, and Cosine Metric Type, enhancing search capabilities and data management efficiency. We're excited to announce the general availability of a major Zilliz Cloud update, now open to the public without the need for an invitation. This release introduces capacity-optimized Compute Units (CUs), allowing up to 32 CUs per database for enhanced performance. It also enables data import from local files and AWS S3 buckets, simplifies the process with auto-indexing, and adds resource monitoring for QPS and query latency. Additionally, database creation speed has been improved by five times, and the user interface has been optimized for a superior experience.
